6/29 Faith, Hope and love

1 Cor 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

This is the vehicle, driver and direction: faith, love and hope. Faith is what moves us, hope keeps you going and the objective is love. These are what make it happen for you. This changes the world and saves you in Christ.

Faith is what puts you in this position. Trusting Jesus puts you in the vehicle and keeps you going. Without continuous faith you are going know where.

Hope is the motivator. It hurls you over the obstacles. It pushes through to the prize.

Love is the destination. This is the reason for the vehicle and driver. It is your purpose to love. Love him and love them. Salvation is at your door step.

6/13 Nothing

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

This is a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious ”nothing.” Nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus. This is great but you must dig deeper to appreciate this and use it. You must use this scripture to your spiritual health for faith survival!

Since “nothing” is the answer, and he lists various possible scenarios, (trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or the sword) it is clear that the love of Jesus is certain. No situation is too great. Note two points in this scripture. One, that “nothing” means “nothing” with a caveat and that you will face trials.

First, in the faith, as you live in his truth, you will excel under difficulty because you know Jesus love is real and tangible in the spiritual realm. You can be sure that your faith will stand. Depend on it. He is true, so trust him and you will stand.

Second, trials are inferred in the text as things that can happen to you. The list is not exhaustive. You are not immune to problems due to faith. Actually, you are more at risk. This should give you a sober view of the future and keep you from being surprised at difficulties. This is a hedge not to be minimized.

Remain in the Spirit through the Word, meditation and prayer. Love as guided and expect difficulties. In this, nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus. Remember this and you will have victory.

6/11 Spare the Son

Rom 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

What a devotion he has to you. He didn’t say he loved but showed you. People have done some nice things for you and I’m sure it made you happy and was followed by much gratitude. However, those around you have a limited ability to love and give but what about God?

He gave his Son to you. The Father put him on the cross for you. He gave you everything else offered through the sacrifice. The blessing from that which the Father did is now and eternity.

Thank him. When in a dark place trust him. Look at what he did for you with Jesus. Never doubt his love and devotion. Know it is real, active and tangible. See with spiritual eyes his love for you. Remember the cross!

5/14 His Love for You

1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

It takes fire to make fire. There is love because of God. He is love. We are being loved on by him. We must open our eyes and see. The love expressed by you is that reflection of the Fathers love for you. Make that reflection bright.

You do this by acknowledging his love for you. You must see it in the good and the perceived bad. He is always loving. When you see it, acknowledge it and speak this truth and you will in a greater way exhibit it.

This love is his; that love that he has shown you. Try not to love more but first receive his love by faith in every situation. Thank him. Brag about his love. This will free you to flow in this love and then, watch it pour out of you.

5/13 Perfect Love

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

In a relationship you need security. In this security you can grow and give and truly love. There is no fear of rejection. You know you are loved and are free to love in return.

Dwell on his love for you and watch yourself grow. You will see yopur ability to love expand.

He wants you. He loves you and is out for your best. It isn’t a self-serving kind of love. He has demonstrated his devotion to you in many ways. Open your eyes and see. He gave his son for you that you would never doubt.

Meditate on his devotion to you and give thanks and live courageously in response. This is what you do in thanks and appreciations for his passion for you.

5/2 Precious Promises

2 Peter 1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Valuable and of exceeding great worth are the promises he has made to you. This is not a promise from a man but from God. These promises are those that transform you of from self-seeking to the divine nature of giving freely and abundantly like him. He gives to his friends, to his family, to those aloof and even his enemies. You can do this now because of him. This is of great worth. There is incredible freedom and eternal life.

Give into this, you are now a lover. You are now one who enjoys agape and give it liberally. Learn to love it and appreciate it whenever you participate in it or see it done. Exalt the idea and take pride in living in the supernatural.

He always keeps his promise and never fails. Stick this in your head. Never does he fail to deliver. Do not rely on your feeling. Push past them in faith. Give and if it hurts, give more. Submit yourself to his rule and accept his promise. Enjoy the fruits of freedom, hope, peace and love.

Until you go Through Hell you Aren’t Worth a Damn

sealPain refines or defines. I saw a shirt the read “Pain is weakness leaving the body!” I like it.

I read prolifically about the SEALs. My friend pushed me and now I’m hooked and am now reading, Navy SEALs: Their Untold Story, by Dick Couch and William Doyle. What are my words? Big, bold, controlled fear, sweat, blood, and no quit or crying! Just do it and let nothing stand in your way. These are my men, my heroes. Hey football is great but pales.

I see this in the prophets, John the Baptist, Jesus and his disciples and many others to today where many live this life of courage yet there are still too few. Do not get me wrong, I have not arrived.

I’ve suffered much for the Gospel under the hand of friends, family, Christians, brothers and sisters in Christ, and the community and let’s give a shout out to Lucifer, our useful nemesis.

I started the faith in struggle. Satan was set to destroy me from the beginning. It started in college and the spiritual pressure drove me to consider ending my life. I left the Way for 5 years to return to the same fight. He was waiting to dissuade and destroy me. The second time was my first act of valor prompted by the Spirit, I resolved “No matter how bad it gets, I will not quit.” This began my salvation.

I have been taken to the edge of my faith many times. The Lord has willed it. Nothing happens to a saint without expressed permission of our loving God. Of course some would question Him, but He is beautiful and perfect in all His ways. This is not trite as it may be from some, I carry the scars of his training. I am a Christian “seal”. He has made me one.

The first scripture I memorized was James 1:2-4; “James 1:2-4, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

I got it as much as I could at the time, it wasn’t an intellectual but experiential obstacle. Only those who have been trained by this and have overcome for many years can truly understand it. It is reserved for the faithful elite and is used to destroy the arrogant neophyte or at least has and mostly created a barren religious class. These are scourge of the saints, they truly are Job’s counselors.

I did not like it but I had to drive a new perspective in to my heart, one high on God’s value system. It was his way and technique to weed out the weak. Yes, the weak. Only those who trust him shall be saved. Those who do not walk in this grace and will not humble themselves before His chastening hand will not be saved. You believe Him for the resurrection from the dead and not His wise discipline?

He is a jealous God. He will have us, all of us! He is passionate and wonderful; in all the bad he has something wonderful. Wrestle with him, he will have his way! Gratefully we submit…
