4/5 The Time of Need

Heb 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jesus was tempted as we are and he understands our dilemma. He isn’t aloof as one who was rich and had never suffered as we do. He is one has suffered as we do and empathizes.

This gives us confidence. There is a confidence to approach one who has went through what we have. This kind of person is that select person who we run to for empathy. They are so refreshing even when we are in the midst of our pain. Run to Jesus in prayer, rest knowing he gets what you are faced with and is acting purposefully in your life. He knows you struggles and isn’t surprised at your frailty. He gets it.

Call on Jesus, thank him, receive his love and love him in prayer. There is nothing like a friend who understands us and cares, like the good friend you have coffee with.

4/4 Entering His Rest

Heb 4:3 Now we who believe enter that rest…

You have entered God’s promised rest through faith in Jesus. This is a gift by his work on the cross to forgive your sins and release you from acting to be blessed. You are in his blessing. Walk in it.

No effort can bring you into his rest. It was done in Jesus. He offers you freedom to do as you will under the law of love. No longer are you under the judgment of others or the burden of religious duty to please God. In Christ you are pleasing to God.

No religious observance can put you in his rest, you are in his rest by faith. Now you are free to be led by the Spirit situation-to-situation. Relax, enjoy God and what he has given you.

In prayer thank him that you are given this great gift. Think on that he loves without condition. Your performance won’t change a thing. He will never leave you or forsake you.

4/3 Sons and Daughters of the King

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

You are a child of God yet before that you were not of God but this world. Through Christ you have been brought into his family and now a legitimate child with an inheritance.

A child is uniquely in relationship with a parent. It carries with it so many gifts, privileges and responsibilities. You are loved and welcomed, you are seen as valuable and an heir to the family like a prince or princess. You carry on the task of the Father.

What do you think he will not do for his child? If things are tough do you really think he would abandon you or maybe he is doing something wonderful?

Meditate through the day on this and let it seep into you and walk a little taller. Right yourself a note reminding you of this and be lifted with this divine knowledge.

Thoughts Captive 4/2

2 Cor 10:5  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Each thought must be measured against Christ. We often let emotion and negativity instead of faith rule our minds. We must take what Christ says and the New Testament dictates to determine what is true about us and our future.

Get his word in you and match it to your thoughts. Throw out what isn’t in line and meditate, absorb and proclaim it as truth. You will see victory everywhere you go instead of defeat.
