1 John 3:16

(This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?)

These are the Five Magnitudes of Service: Mag. 5 has four degrees. Therefore Mag 5.4 is the highest. 80% involvement is hard to reach and maintain because when it is functioning, it is growing therefore new people are coming in regularly who need discipleship. I think most of the ideal churches aiming for Mag 5 would vibrate between 5.2 – 5.3.

Mag 1  Luke warm – No program or interest –  Believe in Jesusbooth

Mag 2  Convert –  Benevolence fund –  BIJ Check the box

Mag 3  Believer – Program for the poor –  BIJ Outreach

Mag 4  Disciple  – Developed Institution for the poor –  BIJ Accomplishment

Mag 5  Friend of God –  Individuals action Good Samaritan – see the need and take car of the need

Mag 5.1 20% of church involvement

Mag 5.2 40% of church involvement

Mag 5.3 60% of church involvement

Mag 5.4 80% of church involvement

Luke warm – do not understand the implication of the gospel…me centered…going to Heaven…bad World

Convert – The leadership needs to find a way to pacify the cry from some in the congregation call to help the poor and leadership have a method to protect the pastor and secretary from beggars

Believer – Leadership recognizes a need and develops a program…ie class

Disciple – Have resources and want to do something big for Jesus.

Friend of God – These understand the imperative to care for needs as individuals, no sub-contracting…Jesus to the People!

These models can also be expressed in terms of football or William Booths vision (http://youtu.be/ky0DDwYzak8).
